Maybe this is how it ends, leaving the single issue of the wall outstanding after the government is back and running otherwise.
McConnell has already said he will not bring a vote to the floor he doesn't think the POTUS would sign.

For the exact same reason they decided that refunds will go out this year no matter how long the shutdown lasts. Hmm, how quickly do you think the not-being-paid-to-work IRS personnel are going to be working on *that*?

    A good insight.

It is amazing when Republicans shut the government down, they take great care to keep the most Marxist-Socialist parts of the government in operation, aka Medicare, Social Security, Disability, food stamps, et al.

Five and I’m sure as time goes on there will be more, especially in the States that have a lot of government employees

These are the states with the most people working for the government.

    • Wyoming. Wyoming employed the largest share of state and local government workers in the country, at 22.4% of its workforce. ...
    • Alaska. ...
    • New Mexico. ...
    • Mississippi. ...
    • Oklahoma. ...
    • Montana. ...
    • Kansas. ...
    • South Carolina.

Holy smoke, I had no idea some of our most deep crimson-red states actually were among the most Socialist of all states.

Why do you live in a gated community GayRod. You say walls don't work, yet you hide your family behind them.

Do you really think they have enough to override a veto?

Ummm, yes he would have the power to refuse. He decides what comes up for a vote and what does not. Despite what Rubio says

    Jarod

What "boogy" man are you afraid of that you hide your family behind a gated community in Palm Beach County?

    Why are you utilizing walls?

LOL! You'll understand if I don't believe a word you say.

Seriously, consider getting a job. You might find it rewarding.

How in the fuck does ANYONE know what Donald Trump will or will not do?

Even Donald Trump does not know what he is going to do (or not do) from minute to minute.

McConnell should bring whatever the House sends over...to a vote.

He can claim he wasn't sure if Trump would or would not sign it.

Actually he does. Discharge Resolutions must be unanimous in the Senate and Discharge Petitions on the Senate side are only used for disapproval of regulations under the Congressional Review Act. Beyond those, scheduling is under the majority leader's thumb.
