Dionysus
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DionysusThough Zeus begged her not to ask this, she persisted and he agreed. Therefore, he came to her wreathed in bolts of lightning; mortals, however, could not look upon an undisguised god without dying, and she perished in the ensuing blaze. Zeus rescued the unborn Dionysus by sewing him into his thigh. A few months later, Dionysus was born on Mount Pramnos in the island of Ikaria, where Zeus went to release the now-fully-grown baby from his thigh. In this version, Dionysus is borne by two "mothers" (Semele and Zeus) before his birth, hence the epithet dimētōr (of two mothers) associated with his being "twice-born".
gosh, just like the nativity.....poor uninformed guano....

Several books in Christian Bibles were demonstrably not written by their alleged authors. Many of these books are now designated the “Pseudepigrapha” or “Apocrypha.” The term pseudepigrapha means generally “falsely written,” and the term apocrypha means “secret” or, more suspiciously, “hidden.” How did such seemingly spurious writings become part of the biblical canon? In this lecture, Prof. Wright will explain how these books came into being and how they became canonical. This fresh look at these “false,” “secret,” or “hidden” books will reveal the great diversity that existed in earliest Judaism and Christianity.
J. Edward Wright is Professor of Hebrew Bible and Early Judaism and has served as the Director of the Arizona Center for Judaic Studies at The University of Arizona since 2000. Wright received his Ph.D. from Brandeis University and did additional graduate study at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Harvard Divinity School.

Paul reported that around 37CE, he had a revelation from God on the road to Damascus. According to his writings, he saw a blinding light, fell to the ground unconscious, heard voices, and became temporarily blinded. During this episode, Jesus appeared to him and spoke to him.
Some say his description is consistent with an epileptic seizure, (Epilepsy, at that time, was thought to indicate possession by a demon—perhaps Paul called his seizure a revelation to avoid the stigma of epilepsy.) Others suggest that Paul had a psychotic episode. It is also possible that Paul was affected by a fireball or meteor passing through the sky which accounts for the blinding light, being knocked to the ground, and temporary blindness.
The first of Paul’s Epistles was written fourteen years later around 52CE. (We have no earlier writings from him and know nothing about what he did for those 14 years.) Paul said that he met Peter and James, the brother of Jesus. However, he reports that he made no attempt to meet and talk with them or any of the other disciples. Just the opposite—there appears to have been a rift between Paul and the people who could have known Jesus. I think Paul and the early Christians had very different opinions about who Jesus was and what he taught.
Paul is quite insistent that he bases his ideas about Christ on his revelation and not upon any eyewitness account told to him.

Arguing about religion is pointless.
People are going to believe what they believe.

All the more so, because "beliefs" in a religious context...are nothing but blind guesses about the unknown.
When a person says, "I believe there is a GOD"...that person is actually saying, "It is my blind guess that a GOD EXISTS."
By the same token, a person who says, "I believe there are no gods...they are myths"...is actually saying, "It is my blind guess that no gods exist...that the notion of gods (or a GOD) IS A MYTH.
If everyone would get away from making blind guesses about THAT aspect of the REALITY of existence, the world would be a much nicer place.
Short of that...if we could all get away from calling our blind guesses on these matters "beliefs"...that would go a long way toward helping make the world a better place.
Nothing wrong with blind guesses.
