What's that reference they fancy, virtue signaling? That.
Yes, there is always a lot of that when you get certain toxic ppl gathered together. Good on Christiefan, Jade, and the rest for calling out the racist premise of this thread's beginnings, and kudos to those like Sailor who got it transformed.

They will... be patient...if he's afraid, stay with him, and encourage him...even participate....

This thread is about teaching kids to swim.....why doesn't everyone just accept that? We were having such a great discussion

She completely ignored his racism on this and other threads and is getting all sanctimonious about swimming lessons.

The time I see Toxic groan or call out his (and others') racism will be the first time.

You'll be overdue to collect Social Security when that day comes. I've been amused at how she attacked and badgered you about use of the c-word, which you've indicated that you hate. She claims to hate it as well and find it execrable. But then there's this.... Oops. Virtue-signaling fail. lol

Oh, still a tadpole. :~) My experience with kids at that age is they've lost that toddler-stage joy of water play and gotten more fearful. If you keep taking him to the pool/lake/wherever, he'll come around eventually. Watching other kids having fun in the water and not, in fact, drowning is helpful. I taught mine to swim and they were pretty scared at first, but by age 9 or 10 they were much more confident. Good for you for helping him learn.
