If one has to float for a very long time ( like a vessel sinks), the person with more muscle than fat will have a much higher percentage of drowning over a period of time. Salt water does not play into that scenario at all.

Wrong.... You obviously don't swim much. Salt water is denser than fresh. Yes fat is less dense than muscle.
See how the truth works? All you have to let it control your words, rather than your hate and envy.
    It'll set you free brother.

Thanks for shooting yourself in the foot again PackD and showing your complete and utter ignorance of, well, anything. Try to read what I wrote, again. If it is too complicated for you get an adult to explain it. It is quite obvious your entire experience swimming is at the safety of some beach or some kiddie pool.

They would be teaching them something that someday could their life!
This is america, we don't believe in investing in society via education for all.

Heck no. We don't need all them swimming pools costing money and giving off greenhouse gases. Even if the GOP paid for the pools, they would want to cut the water level by 10% a year to give 1%er children more water.

That's not racist, just the facts!

    Don't really to...

    It's all in the facts

    Why don't black Americans swim?

When 15-year-old DeKendrix Warner accidentally stepped into deeper water while wading in the Red River in Shreveport, he panicked.

JaTavious Warner, 17, Takeitha Warner, 13, JaMarcus Warner, 14, Litrelle Stewart, 18, Latevin Stewart, 15, and LaDarius Stewart, 17, rushed to help him and each other.

None of them could swim. All six drowned.

During 2005–2009, overall, an average of 3,880 persons died from unintentional drowning (including boating incidents) annually in the United States (1.29 deaths per 100,000 population) (Table). Rates were highest among children aged ≤4 years (2.55), and the death rate for males (2.07) was nearly four times that for females (0.54). The death rate for blacks (1.40) was significantly higher than the overall death rate (1.29), and the death rate for Hispanics was significantly lower (1.19). Racial/ethnic disparity in drowning death rates was greatest among children aged 5–14 years (blacks, 1.34; Hispanics, 0.46; and whites, 0.48). Approximately half (51.1%) of fatal drownings occurred in natural bodies of water. From 2005 to 2009, death rates declined significantly from 1.34 per 100,000 to 1.25 (p=0.002).

Better get your own in on this son, all the Hispanics have to do is keep selling you excursion tickets. Stay out on the water and work on your tan, ya not dark enough.

The fatal drowning rate of African American children ages 5 to 14 is almost three times that of white children in the same age range. The disparity is most pronounced when looking at drowning that happens in swimming pools; African American children 5-19 drown in swimming pools at rates 5.5 times higher than those of whites. This disparity is greatest among those 11-12 years where African Americans drown in swimming pools at rates 10 times those of whites.

If you white folk would stop pissing in the pools others might get in the water. . .

I taught all my children to swim well before age 2.. I don't think schools should invest in pools and teach swimming to take time away from academic subjects.

It used to be standard practise. Public baths were subsidized for that purpose. Every kid could swim and received a certificate.
