Default I thought I'd share my trip maps for details.

I of course don't have it linked to where I live, I just started it in the biggest town in Northern Michigan. Each place is from hotel, to hotel, with a few places to route the maps correctly.

I'm interested in just how crazy we were for taking this on, and because I'm sure my haters get all huffy over these type of things. As it is, we cut a few things in the end.

Looks like you spent most of your time in the Northwest, any reason for that? Did you have some spots that you definitely wanted to see? Any advice to fellow Travelers on what to see and what not to waste your time on? (you already warned us about Yellowstone).

Any problem driving through Canada? At the Border? Using American currency?

If you buy fruit in Canada, it's best to just eat it. Mine was seized at the border crossing.

haha ... they do that ... or used to do that, in California. They would stop people at the California Border and ask them what they have, like fruits and vegetables. Agriculture is a BIG business, who wants a fruit fly to fuck everything up?

Loved your pictures, love to hear adventure stories from Travelers. Thanks a million on the tip about Yellowstone.

Check your credit cards, and see if they charge for currency exchanges. If they don't, it's easiest to just use that, as long as you tell the credit company about going places. That way they don't think it was swiped, and put a freeze on it. If you look at the route where it staircased in Manitoba; forget doing that. It's best to just head straght north, and take the highway over. While this was shorter in mileage, there was nothing there, and we almost ran out of gas

Thanks. The last thing I would want is my CC to be froze in the middle of a Trip.

I gotta' go. Keep posting about the Trip before you begin to forget stuff. Just little things that you encountered are important, especially to us 'stay-at-homers' that keep talking about going somewhere, but never get off the couch and actually GO.

I don't actually live in Traverse City, but I do visit from time to time. My Mom is the one who knows people in Traverse, since she is part of a Carmelite monastary there.

Your mom is a monk? How very avant-garde

LMAO. I'm pretty sure Mrs. Dragon is not a monk; she is a very devout Catholic however.

Not a monk, more a...... Well I don't know what I'd call them. It's a Catholic monastary, and the only thing I know is she was voted to lead a secular order.

Oh I get it. She is a Knight Templar. Did she let you see her sword fight while you were on vacation, or did you just hear about a trail of decapitated bodies along the way and think "My what a coincidence!! we were just there."

No I think she's just what they call a secular. A devotee like nuns, but not secluded from the secular world, and having families. It's really just one big pain, as she does too much for what I believe to be simple act of expression, devotion, and belief. Overcomplicate stuff that is supposed to be simple, spontaneous, and free.

Looks like an epic road trip.
As far as I am concerned, anyone who is complaining, whining, or hating on your vacation thread, music thread, or recipe threads is a person who has low self esteem, mental health problems, poor social etiquette....or all of the above. I would not put much thought into it.
