What recent developments do you speak of Thingy? What does Putin want exactly? Did he tell you?

you are wondering all over the place. How can you improve relations as you say you want to,without a meeting?
There ARE NO LOWER LEVEL TALKS at all going on. yes relations are that sour.

Further you do not understand the increased weaponization pushed by both sides - we are talking permanent deployments in Finland. Talk of "Putin eyeing the Balkans" and a possible new permanent base in Poland.
If that isn't Cold War 2, I don't know what is..

If Obama had made a statement by himself that Putin was attacking our country, McConnell and the Conservatives would have politicized it.

That was a calculation on Obama's part; I guess he didn't assume that the GOP would cozy up to Russia if they thought it would help them win the election. Obviously, we know that is the case today.

    So?

Are you honestly trying to compare the idea that Russia is no longer our top threat w/ the idea that they should still be treated as an adversary w/ ulterior motives?

It's not that complex, Darth. Nothing about that is contradictory in the slightest. It's just common sense, on both counts.

The lengths you guys go to in order to defend Trump - it's really amazing.

The weakling was Trump for firing Comey because of Russia.

Who said I don't want to improve relations?

We should do it on OUR terms. Not theirs. That's what you're missing - and what you missed w/ Kim.

It's called mature foreign policy. Trump is acting like a naïve child.

    So relations are frought because...?

    Putin invaded and annexed Crimea?
Putin's FSB attacked us and other western democracies?
    Putin bombs Syrian civilians?

So Trump's going to improve relations by...apologizing to Putin?

    And? Your point is what?

Do you think this is the first time Russia or the Soviet Union has tried to interfere in a US election?

Do you think the US has interfered in other countries elections? Are you OK with that?

Of course Russia tried to interfere in our election. Nobody denies they tried to sow discord. What is disputable was that they colluded with the Trump administration AND had any impact on the election.

Like all issues you lefties try to conflate issues. So in you TDS mind, saying that Trump/Russian collusion is a witch hunt means to you that we don't believe Russia tried to meddle. I am sure you will try to play cute.
