Default "Getting along with Russia is a good thing - not a bad thing"

Trump is the last sane man in DC.

“We will have discussions on everything from trade to military to nuclear,” and “a little bit about China — our mutual friend, President Xi,” Mr. Trump said, as he and Mr. Putin posed for photographs before going behind closed doors.

“I think we have great oportunities as two countries that, frankly, we have not been getting along too well,” he said, against a backdrop of three American and three Russian flags. “I think the world really wants to see us get along.”

“We are the two great nuclear powers,” Mr. Trump said. “We have 90 percent of the nuclear, and that’s not a good thing, it’s a bad thing.”

He also praised Russia’s hosting of the soccer World Cup, which ended on Sunday.

“I’d like to congratulate you on a really great World Cup, one of the best ever,” Mr. Trump said. “It was beautifully done, so congratulations.”

He said that he and Mr. Putin would first meet one-on-one, and then with advisers.

Bill Clinton wanted to get along with the Russians. Bush II did. Obama did and as well as Secretary Hillary.

But Trump isn’t allowed to lol.

Except when Obama and Clinton and any other democrat wanted to get along with Russia -- it was because they hated America and we all was against them because we knew Russia was not our friend as long as a democrat was president.

Now that we have a true conservative as president, Russia will be our true friend and we should forgive them and let go of the past -- and hopefully they will forgive us, but I don't blame them if they don't -- we may need to do more to earn their forgiveness #MAGA!!

This is something I can definitely agree with Trump on. Diplomacy should always be the first approach, fear-mongering from the Dems on meeting with world leaders to come to peaceful solutions is frankly gross and disappointing.

When it comes to 2 huge nations not quite on the same ideological page (to say the least), it certainly would be a good thing to "get along". To have a simple civil relationship doesn't require complete total agreement on all things. Let's see what we can agree on and go from there. We're dealing from a more powerful hand than Putin. Lots of talking points for them...Iran, Syria, Space Force, Crimea, China. We'll see.

empathy for animal suffering can lack compassion for unborn children who experience lethal violence and excruciating
    pain in abortion.

Unborn animals are protected in their nesting places, humans are not. To abort something is to end something
which has begun. To abort life is to end it.

A second meeting coming up as well with Pompeo, Bolton and Russian leaders after this private one ends shortly.

After recent events & revelations, the timing is embarrassing and completely inappropriate.

It's just like w/ Kim - he's giving Putin EXACTLY what he wants, for free. Trump is weak.

But he's really tough w/ Canada. It's so impressive.

It's not a reset of anything; Trump's been one of Putin's assets for years.

If Trump doesn't walk away from this summit with the indicted Russians in custody then he's not tough enough to stand up to Putin, or he's in Putin's pocket.

The indicted Russians acted under Obama’s watch.

Why didn’t he do anything about it? Too weak lol? Incompetent? Didn’t care enough to try?
