    Default What is "fake news"?

Answer: any story or report that is critical of Trump, or which Trump otherwise disapproves of in some way.

It has nothing to do with how factual & accurate it is.

Trump's campaign against the media could end up being one of the most negative, long-lasting aspects of his Presidency.

"advocacy journalism" is fake news. The NYTimes copped to it during the election against Trump

The most common form of fake news that I see is where truth and facts are are taken out of their full and correct context and assembled into media stories that promote certain political agenda. This type of fake news satisfies confirmation bias of the viewers and can pass certain fact checks, so it can be difficult for many to spot.

That's biased reporting. Everybody is guilty of that. I wouldn't call it ' fake ' though.

The term "fake news" is stupid. As noted above, we have more precise terms to describe it. Biased reporting covers most of it. Propaganda.

Facts and truths that are taken out of their proper or intended context and then compiled into an engineered narrative are fake news.

What about Trump's interview with The Sun, July 13?

That's a contradiction in terms i.e ' fact and truth ' cannot be ' fake '. Colored, yes. Disguised, yes. Fake ? I don't see it.

So you are blind to yourself. Is it fear or a psychiatric issue?

Trump supporters seem to think that any news that is not favorably slanted toward Donald Trump...

    ...is somehow suspect.

Any news that contains a negative component toward their Dear Leader...

    ...is fake news.

The damage Donald Trump and his followers are doing to the independent press component of a democracy...is appalling.
