Oh, golf stuff. I thought those were missile codes. Good thing for you I dropped my Obamaphone in the potty and can't call Homeland Security until it dries out.

Sorry mate. I consider golf effete, elitist and an unmanly game in which guys in bad clothes get to pretend they’re real men (obviously they are not or they wouldn’t be engaged in such a sissy sport) and make business deals.

I personally have a hard time classifying a game which includes martinis lunches as part of its training as a sport. Not to mention what horrific misuse of land.

Now if we want talk about making golf a real sport and to make it actually interesting to watch the worlds most mind numbingly boring game my suggestion is that it should be played in a minefield.

That would serve two purposes. #1. It would make the game kinda interesting to watch and #2. It would rid the world of many of its most dangerous psychopaths.

You know, that actually makes sense.

I'm a progressive liberal who likes the elitist game of golf, even though I don't particularly like a lot of people who play.

But understand this this. I'm a hard-left activist, not some sissy flower-child hippie.

I think progressive liberals need to toughen up. I understand the reasons to disapprove of golf. Many of them are valid.
But dear poster, I just don't give a fuck. I like to play, so I'm afraid I have to say fuck you.

In his introductory post, Nifty said that he came here because his political lectures were not appreciated on a golf forum. Now he uses a political forum to discuss golf.

I made an observation. Live with it. Look at your post # 7 where you are discussing politics in the sports and hobbies thread.

Ask every pro athlete in America "What is your favorite game?"...95% of them would respond "Golf" almost instantaneously.

By the way, Mott...although I agree with you on many things...

...this quoted post of yours is the work of a fucking jackass.

So unless someone wrote it for you...YOU ARE THAT PERSON.

The irony is I live in a town almost as famous for golf as Augusta, GA.

Sorry my man but I’ve been involved in brutally tough sports, like wrestling, triathlon, road cycling and orienteering that I have a hard time taking golf seriously. I also come from working class stock so I find Golfs country club social aspect really, really weird.

Having said that you should agree that Golf would be an awesome spectator sport if it was played on a minefield and think of how it would help the progressive cause?

No I wrote it and I’m no Jackass. Just a garden variety asshole. I aspire to one day to be a Jackass but I currently lack the certain je ne sais quoi necessary to be a one.

Now the late Great Dixie...he was a Jackass of epic proportions. It’s a shame you didn’t get to meet him.
