Seriously? I know some CATHOLICs that 'got religion' that sounded more like Baptists, but I didn't know about the above. Hell, as an old Catholic, I might have thought LATIN sounded like 'tongues' but by 10, I would've have known it was Latin.

Our local Catholic church is a precinct for voting. We sent one of our guys up as a poll greeter (outside the church). He was labor-union leader for the region. A priest came up and tried to eject him and called police. Our greeter knew his rights and phone numbers. The police arrived the phone was handed to the supervisor of elections and the priest was sent back into his 'space'. Don't fuck with a labor man.

One of the dirty little secrets within the GOP:

Republicans have had the license to campaign as self-righteous purists about overturning Roe. Republicans retained that license because Roe had in the opinion of many experts become settled law.
But there's a more obvious fact. Females comprise a majority in the United States. So the Republicans* are chomping at the bit to usurp this important right, the Republican minority imposing itself on the majority.

And now, instead of Republicans pontificating in impotent rhetoric, they actually have a prospect of making good on their decades long lip-flappery. And suddenly larger, more authoritarian, more intrusive, more punitive government isn't looking quite so appealing to this plethora of pseudo-cons, the GOP.

They've got a political tiger by the tail. And just about any choice they make from here will exact a toll on them, quite likely to toss control to the Dems. at the next vote. "Better watch what you wish for!"

* Trump won the presidency with a minority of the vote.
