Recently RB was once again repeating that lie he's clung desperately to that I dissed his dead father when I derided ppl who feel the need to display the flag on their trucks, butts, and a "giant stripper pole in the front yard." I save posts to be able to rebut that shit. Don't kid yourself -- Toxic has an even more extensive archive than I do.

It's interesting that you only see ppl "gang-stalking" poor eternal-victim Toxic, but never notice when she's in the center of a dogpile on someone else. Sometimes it's me, sometimes it's Evince, sometimes it's Phantasma, sometimes it's Christiefan, sometimes it's Jade, sometimes it's Mason -- but if there is a dogpile, she's quite often right in the center playing alpha bitch with her buddies EE, RB, Yurt, Lesion, CFM, etc. You seem to pride yourself on fairness but when it comes to this you've got blinders on.

The next time the subject comes up you might reply with something like, "I am sorry that you took offense."
I didn't personalize that remark because I understood the point you were making, even if it was hyperbolic.
It isn't easy, but sometimes I call out the veterans I consider blowhards. The ones who make gratuitous statements about their military service when it has no direct bearing in the conversation. My father's generation was more humble.
And, in my experience, a lot of veterans are liars who, at best, have embellished and embroidered their real service.

Your last two statements are pretty much the way I see it as well. We have several holidays/year to celebrate those who served and remember those who didn't make it home. Plus parades, hundreds of congresscritters who pay at least lip service to our vets, charities to help them out, etc. so it's not like we send 'em off and that's it. So it's hard to see why some feel so needy and compelled to flaunt it for some sort of points or something. There is one here who was also over on the Amazon forum who actually demanded to be thanked for his service. Phantasmal will recall that incident.
