The weak and pathetic efforts of the Democratic Party of the Jackass regarding illegal immigrants and their children was on display yesterday when Shumer relinquished his Constitutional Role and demanded that Trump just use his pen to solve the problem like a dictator.

It was a stunning admission that Congressional Democrats do not want any solutions; only problems and after declaring that Trump is no better than a dictator like Hitler, demanded he act like one and use Executive orders in lieu of Congress doing it's job. It is pathetic, disgusting and desperate. But this is what has happened to the Democrats who no longer agree to disagree and accept the results of an election; they want to declare war on the White House and everyone who supports Trump or works in his administration.

This is not merely stupid, but extremely dangerous and places this Republic in grave danger of collapse. When an entire party refuses to accept election results and believes that it can disenfranchise half the nation, it makes a mockery of the Constitution, our laws and our system of Government.

This is a shot across the bow for ALL Americans who care about this country and believe in the Constitution. We must send a HUGE message this fall to the FAKE media and their allies in the Democratic Party of the Jackass. If we do not, then there will be an even greater price to pay than just dealing with Trump's tweets.

“There are so many obstacles to legislation and when the president can do it with his own pen, it makes no sense,” Schumer told reporters. “Legislation is not the way to go here when it’s so easy for the president to sign it.”

In January 1997, during the administration of President Bill Clinton, the parties agreed to a consent decree regarding detention standards for the children and in which the government agreed keep children in the least restrictive setting possible and to ensure the prompt release of children from immigration detention.[1]:1650 The settlement is officially called the Flores v. Reno Settlement Agreement, [11] and officially abbreviated as the Flores Agreement.[11] It is also unofficially referred to as the Flores Settlement and as the Flores v. Reno Agreement.[12][13][14]
Terms of the agreement

The Flores Agreement set national policy for the detention, release and treatment of minors in the custody of the Immigration and Naturalization Service.[14] According to the legal nonprofit Human Rights First, the Agreement "imposed several obligations on the immigration authorities, which fall into three broad categories":

The government is required to release children from immigration detention without unnecessary delay to, in order of preference, parents, other adult relatives, or licensed programs willing to accept custody.
If a suitable placement is not immediately available, the government is obligated to place children in the “least restrictive” setting appropriate to their age and any special needs.
The government must implement standards relating to the care and treatment of children in immigration detention.[15]

The Flores Agreement "set standards for the detention of minors by prioritizing them for release to the custody of their families and requiring those in federal custody to be placed in the least restrictive environment possible," according to NBC News in 2018.[16] The Agreement required immigration officials to provide detained minors with:

food and drinking water,
medical assistance in emergencies,
toilets and sinks,
adequate temperature control and ventilation,
adequate supervision to protect minors from others, and
separation from unrelated adults whenever possible.[17]

The Agreement instructed immigration officials to release minors “without unnecessary delay” when detention isn’t required to secure the well-being of the minor or to secure the timely appearance of the minor at a proceeding before immigration authorities, that is, when officials release the minor to a parent or guardian who agree to appear.[14] The Agreement prioritized the preferred situations into which minors are to be released:

to a parent;
a legal guardian;
an adult relative; or
an adult individual or entity designated by the parent or legal guardian or parent.[14][18]

Failing these, the minor may be released to an adult or other entity seeking custody or sent to a licensed detention program.[14][18]

The Agreement instructed immigration officials to reunite minors with their families. Efforts to reunify families are to continue as long as the minor is in custody.[14] The Flores Agreement did not stipulate that the government separate children from their parents.[19]

Another example of the shameless news coverage of Trump. In a story about Trump issuing an executive order like Shameful Shumer offered, the story goes on with this lie:

Yes, they control both chambers but the Senate needs a 60 vote majority to send anything through and Democrats refuse to end debate on legislation. They are OBSTRUCTING any meaningful legislation from happening.

I think I know, TD: they might revive the Flores settlement (that Obama ignored) to claim that all illegal immigrant minors must be immediately released.

The Ninth Circuit has made clear that the Flores settlement agreement creates a presumption in favor of the release of alien minors.

A July 2016 circuit court opinion held that the 1997 Flores settlement applies to both accompanied and unaccompanied alien children.

The Flores settlement agreement is problematic in many ways. It encourages unaccompanied minors to enter the United States illegally, and encourages parents of to hire smugglers to bring them to the United States.

Further, it encourages people to bring their own children (or children whom they claim to be their own) when they illegally enter the United States, thinking that it will make it more likely that they (the parents or purported parents) are more likely to be released if they travel with children.

Ironically, in cases where the parents are detained, and the child is released, then the child would, in fact be, unaccompanied; it is questionable that this is a result that Congress or the courts intended.
