Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.

You seem to have a penchant for blaming liberals for the failings of conservatives. It is the conservative position to blame the poor for their own condition. It is the liberal position to want to help them.

The Jester's job was to keep his ruler from folly. All jesters used humor to point out shortcomings or limitations in judgment of the ruler, before the ruler could make a mistake. Humorous jokes kept the ruler from uppitiness or errors of judgment costly to the realm.

Circumstances are humanized by the court jester to allow the ruler to see things as they really are and jesters fended off misapprehension, miscues, and misquotes and prohibited cultural misunderstanding.

The jester was often called upon to be a global player, acting as diplomat or ambassador because of their charm, gaiety, and sound judgment. If you left the author off those quotes, it would sound just like so many of our own American conservatives.

Well done. I wish you many years of health wealth and love.

I just don't get the ones who have it made, but they never quit working. As if the pursuit of wealth, and wealth itself, is the end-all be-all.

It is dismaying to see people so obsessed with wealth that they forgo their own health in the pursuit of wealth. Then, when they finally retire, they can't enjoy life because of health issues.

President Trump totally doesn't get it.

Once you're rich, there is no more point in trying to get rich. More money does not equal more happiness.

When one has enough to have all their needs met, they are already as happy as they are ever going to be.

Happiness must come from a fulfilling life. It cannot be purchased.

And once your body is 'used up for life,' all the money in the world will not buy you another one, nor bring back your youth.

Trump will die still trying to get rich.

My father worked into his 80's part time at an orchard and had a small honey business. Not for wealth, but because he enjoyed it.

Totalitarianism is conservative whether they are socialists or capitalists.. There is a reason the Nazi flag was mostly red. Currently. Italy is undergoing a Fascist revival.

Including most young people. My kids all worked their way through college. The kids I currently go to university with are doing the same. Every generation tends to think that the one behind it is lazier, feels more entitled, and won't amount to a hill of beans. lol
