Should we be naming schools after Cornwallis?
    Hey 3pays.
I support the effort to re-name schools from Confederate Generals to something else. It seems like it's only done at black-majority schools. Usually these schools need better funding. So, after awhile, the gesture looks like 'appeasement', ... instead of better funding, we'll just name the school after a black person (It's ALWAYS a black person).

It's going to cost them a pretty penny to change everything....used to be the Stuart Stars-should have just left it at that.......I wonder what the new mascot will be? Our newest AA school mascot? The Nubians....

Well after 200 plus years of it always being named after a white person -- anyone complaining about a school being named after any minority as "ALWAYS" falls of deaf ears with me.

As far as funding, its ironic that the ones who are complaining about schools being named after the black person -- are usually the ones complaining about funding those schools named after the black person. How about we rename them and fund them, deal?

"How about we rename them and fund them, deal?"

Yeah, that seems to be the Problem. 'The Deal' ... seems to be "Hey let's change the name ... everybody will be so HAPPY ... and then we WON"T have to better fund the school.
