    Default Immigrants in the news

Joe Rust Jr. was swimming with his family in his pool when he heard people running down the alleyway behind his house, followed quickly by two police helicopters flying low. Alarmed, he quickly ushered his relatives into his home.

The discovery of more than 50 undocumented immigrants in an air-conditioned tractor trailer parked in that alleyway transformed the normally quiet subdivision into a display of chaos.

People ran from the truck, jumping over fences and climbing on the roofs of houses. Squad cars prowled the neighborhood. Officers shone flashlights into residents’ darkened yards. Helicopters continued circling overhead for several hours.

Authorities were still finding people well into Wednesday, long after the tractor-trailer had been removed from the alley.

It was the latest stark reminder that human smuggling continues to be a pervasive, highly organized enterprise even as President Donald Trump’s administration tries to seal the border.

The discovery of the men, women and minors from Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador and Brazil came almost a year after 10 immigrants died and many others were injured after being smuggled into Texas aboard a sweltering tractor trailer found parked outside a Walmart.

In all, 54 people were apprehended in the latest incident, federal officials said. An affidavit filed Wednesday by Homeland Security said 53 people were captured, along with the man accused of driving the truck.

The detained migrants were hungry, so firefighters ordered pizza and fed them, San Antonio Fire Chief Charles Hood said.

Those who didn’t need to go to a hospital were taken to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Removal Operations office.

Officials identified the adriver as Gerardo Javier Carreon, 36, of Laredo. Carreon, a U.S. citizen, is expected to be charged in federal court with human smuggling. Carreon remains in federal custody and faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

Default Immigrants bring cultural enrichment to America, they say

A 21-year-old man who police say is responsible for the hit-and-run death of a Wixom teenager has been arraigned on felony charges.

A woman was in the courtroom interpreting the proceedings in Spanish for the defendant, Miguel A. Ibarra Cerda -- a Mexican national.

Cerda is accused of crashing into 14-year-old Justin Lee, who was riding his bicycle, and then fleeing the scene.

Police had said they believed Cerda may have been heading to Mexico when he was arrested.

Cerda is in the U.S. illegally, according to prosecutors, who said federal immigration officials have been notified about Cerda's arrest.

He is charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, and reckless driving causing death.

Lee was a freshman at Walled Lake Western where he played football. According to a message on a gofundme page -- which has raised more than $25,500 for memorial expenses -- Lee was known for his "kind-hearted nature, his sense of humor, and his love and friendship to his friends and family."

Ten illegal immigrants have been found in an Arizona home littered with trash, decaying food and human feces.

Border Patrol agents in a town on the boundary with Mexico swooped on the home after observing several vehicles dropping off people throughout the day.

Inside they discovered 10 Mexican nationals – nine males and one female – living in “horrendous living conditions”. As well as the filth in the home, the temperature was 98 F.

The group was subsequently taken to the Douglas station where they were processed for immigration violations.

The discovery came just a day after dozens of illegal immigrants were discovered in a tractor-trailor near San Antonio International airport.

The Department of Homeland Security announced on Friday that 1,995 children were separated from 1,940 adults being held by border control between April 19 and May 31.

Default Five dead after car being chased by Border Patrol crashes in Texas

WANNA BET LIBERALS WILL BLAME TRUMP?

Authorities are investigating the scene where a car full of undocumented immigrants being chased by Border Patrol agents crashed.

WOAI reports 5 people are dead. Dimmit County Sheriff Marion Boyd told WOAI the crash happened off Highway 85 in Big Wells at about noon.

Fourteen people were inside, including the driver and passenger.

Twelve people were ejected from the vehicle.

Boyd said the vehicle was going more than 100 miles per hour before the crash.

Boyd told WOAI a wall needs to be build because illegal immigration is "a real problem" in the area.
