Staffers for Devin Nunes apparently threatened to hold Rod Rosenstein in Contempt of Congress in a recent meeting. He told them if they did, he would have the right to subpoena their communications and put them on the witness stand to prove them wrong. He's 100% right about that.

They should have general oversight, but they should not be free to interfere with ongoing investigations or free to provide information to people who are being investigated, especially for political reasons.

I'd think this was a good thing. He can subpoena all the crap he wants. Then Nunes and company drag their heels for a couple of years and meanwhile, Rosenstein is still held in contempt of congress. A better path would be for Trump to fire him(and Sessions too, while he's at it), and declassify everything congress wants. Then maybe we could start to drain the DOJ swamp. It would be a start

Rosenstein has a right to defend himself, and obviously he feels subpoenaing the Committee's communications aids in his defense, it would be nice to see all "twilight Uber to the White House" Nunes's memos regarding his White House directions on how to discredit anything he could
