This is the problem with what's Trump is saying, trade deficits aren't by themselves a bad thing. He's making people who don't know better think they are.
However it's funny to see people who previously stated globalization and trade agreements hurt working Americans now complaining about tariffs

Trump is either stupid or a liar. The US has over 12,500 tariffs. He should show he is serious by eliminating all of them. Truth is Trump is talking like a child on economics. The asshole, and Ivanka still make their overpriced crap in China and 3rd world nations. Hows that helpful to our trade balance? American companies moved to countries with cheap ,unprotected labor and no environmental regulation. How is Trump going to deal with that, when he does the same thing. Trump is waving shiny objects to distract us.

no Obama barely got GDP into the high 1%. He grew JOBS ( as does Trump) but not wages ( also stagnating) or GDP.. your reliance on "economy" shows how bankrupt your thoughts are.
Estimates are GDP into the 3% range this coming quarter -wages are climbing -Obama did none of this.

till, the disputes hardly faded away.
Trump railed against trade deficits and said he may pursue separate trade deals with Canada and Mexico to replace the North American Free Trade Agreement. Canada would prefer to renegotiate the three-way deal
Asked if Trudeau was upset that Trump would be leaving the summit early, Trump joked, "He's happy."
Macron said he and Trump held "open and direct" discussions, adding that he thought there was a way to get a "win-win" outcome on trade.
Both sides suggested some progress in NAFTA talks. White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders said they were "close to a deal," but added that there was also discussion of shifting to a bilateral deal. A Canadian official said the leaders discussed accelerating the pace of the talks.

For us it was important that we have a commitment to a rule-based trade order, that we continue to fight against protectionism and that we want to reform the World Trade Organization,” Merkel told reporters after G7 talks in Quebec.
Merkel said there was a broad agreement among G7 leaders that tariffs and other trade barriers should be reduced.
“These are jointly shared principles, although the pitfalls lie in the detail,” she said.

Childish name calling in the face of incredible data showing Noise is just wrong again and again. The economy and market are on the same trajectory that Obama left to Teflon Don. Obama was faced with the second great depression and in Noises world, he strangled the economy with regulation. How damn stupid do you have to be to think that is true?
