There is no way to determine racism in a short tweet.
Roseanne has absolutely NO history of racism.
She never tweeted any thing of racist intent.

So NO, we are not just talking about government employees being protected, and all states also cover private employee political protection as well.
Its in every state constitution, because they all mirror the federal constitution.

You are not free to express any dumb ass thing you may want to say without consequence on television.

Who told you that you could?
AMERICAN HISTORY ITSELF IS A TESTAMENT TO THE STRENGTH AND RESILIENCE OF AFRICAN PEOPLE. WE, ALONG WITH THE COURGE AND SACRIFICES OF CONSCIOUS WHITE AMERICANS, LIKE VIOLA LIUZZO, EVERETT DIRKSEN, AND MANY OTHERS, HAVE FOUGHT AND DIED TOGETHER FOR OUR FREEDOM, AND FOR OUR SURVIVAL.

In America, rights are are not determined by what is just, fair, equitable, honest, nor by what Jesus would do. Rights are determined ONLY by what you can DEMAND.

Employees do NOT reflect on their employers, and in fact employees individual rights to express beliefs contrary to employers beliefs is absolutely and completely guaranteed.

And that is real treason, not the misunderstanding you believe.

Well first of all, yes, if you get a permit to use the airwaves, then you can freely express any dumb ass thing you want, as long as it is not deliberate libel, slander, or inciting others to illegal violence.

But we were never talking about on television.
We were talking about Roseanne's tweet that was critical of Jarrett's Mideast policies.

I happen to disagree with Roseanne's opinion, but would kill to defend her right to say it.

so the issue wasn't whether Michigan law made it illegal to fire someone for their political beliefs, but what you hoped and dreamed might happen.......

Barr’s tweet referencing Jarrett, who she said is what you’d get if the “muslim brotherhood and planet of the apes had a baby,” was not the first time the Roseanne star has made racist comments toward black women. In 2013, Barr said former National Security Advisor Susan Rice was a “big man with swinging ape balls” in a since-deleted tweet.

Solution? Magical thinking and childish promises of everlasting life.
    Ergo, religion.

a person who believes that a particular race is superior to another.
Ask yourself honestly if this describes what you believe to be true.
If the answer is yes, you are a racist.

That may be what you do, but what you do about Roseanne is a personal business decision, not a business decision.

... and no, one does not get to say any damn thing they want publicly without consequence ..

Roseanne is so ignorant she claimed Valarie Jarrett was a Muslim and followed the Muslim Brotherhood.

Private employment doesn't protect freedom of speech.. Only the government does that.

If I am not mistaken, she never made any comments about black women, and she never compared the looks of any woman to those of apes. She compared the looks of VJ to the looks of HUMAN cast characters of various races who performed in a movie. Many of the women who acted in that movie had really shitty looking hair like VJ's, and the shitty looking hairdo is not something you would ever see on an ape. There really is a resemblance between VJ and the humans dressed up in shitty costumes, but no resemblance to apes.

Didn't Hillary refer to Donna Brazile as a brain dead Buffalo? No outrage there.
