Default Religious Experiences Shrink Part of the Brain

    Science!

A study links life-changing religious experiences, like being “born again,” with atrophy in the hippocampus

guno, thanx for the link. Interesting article.

It kind of boils down to "Is it causation or correlation?"

I think your remark "Religious Experiences Shrink Part of the Brain" is reversed in its veracity.

Note that a key factor is the shrinking of the hippocampus as one ages, viz. "They evaluated the MRIs of 268 men and women aged 58 and over ..."

The article lends more credence as to why older people tend to become more superstitious, i.e., "religious".

It has also been proven that Christians live longer, healthier and happier lives.
