    What over fishing? Fisheries are one of the most over regulated professions in this country. Wind farms are not good for fisheries. At all. Once again look at what Norway is doing.

    We could harness Ted's spinning and produce electricity, sell it back to the grid and prevent coal burning at the power plant... We could save the world!

    Global Warming (All praise be to its name) was one of Ted's biggest concerns. What a wonderful way to give Ted the power to fight Global Warming (All praise...etc)

    Germans, who have been into the offshore wind farm far longer than just about anybody have suddenly realised the downside. People like PMP are still at the rosy coloured glasses stage, that will change.

    Sobriety Returning To Germany…Leaders Finally Realizing Green Energies Are Fraught With Huge Obstacles

    "It is only now, after the construction of over 100 gigawatts of power generation capacity, that the realization is beginning to take hold that the expansion of ambient energies is not getting us closer to the purpose of replacing chemical energy sources.”

    If solar and wind energy is so cheap, then why are they making electricity prices so expensive?

    Electricity prices increased by:

    51 percent in Germany during its expansion of solar and wind energy from 2006 to 2016;

    24 percent in California during its solar energy build-out from 2011 to 2017;

    over 100 percent in Denmark since 1995 when it began deploying renewables (mostly wind) in earnest.

    What gives? If solar panels and wind turbines became so much cheaper, why did the price of electricity rise instead of decline?

    I was about to ask the same. Oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico are great for fishing. Artificial reefs.

    These issues were in large part why Ted Kennedy was a disease to the Democrat party.

    Build alternative eco friendly energy sources, just not in my back yard.

    Ted Kennedy was a disease to humanity.
    Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.

    Not so much fish but they are pretty effective at decapitating sea birds.

    Part of it is the capitol cost of continued investment. Part of it, at least as far as Germany, is having to pay people to take the extra electric off their hands because they cannot readily shed loads with these generators tied directly into the system, and part of it is that they still have to pay for the cost of the standby power whether it is being used or not. Norway has made gains by using excess generation to pump water up hills into reservoirs to be released to generate hydroelectric. The inability to store the electric until needed is and will remain the bane of alternatives. Hopefully a lot more creative ideas like Norway's will come along as I imagine any battery storage system for that amount of energy would be so toxic, it would be as big of a danger as nuclear waste.

    alternative energy will never take off because it is financially feasible, only when it becomes obviously necessary
