Question How are those police body cams working for you, SJWs?

A woman who claimed that a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper raped her after she was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated, might want to rethink her story now that the Texas Department of Public Safety has released the body cam footage from the arrest.

The Texas Highway Patrol Trooper pulled over 37-year-old Sherita Dixon-Cole after she allegedly committed a traffic violation. They arrested her and took her to the Ellis County Jail, where she was formally charged with DWI. In a press statement, the Texas Department of Public Safety wrote:

Following the arrest, spurious and false accusations related to this traffic stop were made against the Texas Trooper. Upon learning of those allegations, the Texas Department of Public Safety immediately took action to review the video in connection with this traffic stop and arrest. The video shows absolutely no evidence to support the egregious and unsubstantiated accusations against the Trooper during the DWI arrest of the suspect. The Department is appalled that anyone would make such a despicable, slanderous and false accusation against a peace officer who willingly risks his life every day to protect and serve the public.

The allegations were published in The Root and by far-left activist Shaun King, who appeared to add even more allegations to those made by Dixon-Cole, saying that she was "kidnapped" and was "being held hostage."

In a 704-word Facebook post that got more 56,000 shares, King wrote:

This woman was kidnapped and raped by a Texas State Trooper— OFFICER HUBBARD, she is now being held hostage in Ellis County Jail!...

...He drove the car behind the vacant dealership and told Cole “why don’t you just give me some of that sweet pussy you have been given your fiancé and then you can go home.” Cole begged Hubbard to just take her to jail. He placed his hands back up her skirt and penetrated her vagina, warning her “not to be stupid!” He explained, she could “go home tonight” if she just gave him what he wanted...

These claims are in no way supported by any part of the nearly two hours of body cam footage that was released by the Texas Department of Public Safety. Several other allegations made by King in his Facebook post also appear to be blatantly false. King also reposted many of the allegations to his Twitter account, where they got tens of thousands of retweets.

A local president of the NAACP’s claim of racial profiling has been contradicted by police body cam footage released by the department.

SCnow.com reported, “The Rev. Jerrod Moultrie, whose Facebook page says he is still the chapter’s president, posted on April 13 that he was racially profiled by a police officer because he was ‘driving a Mercedes Benz and going home in a nice neighborhood.’ It is unclear what neighborhood he was referring to.”

Moultrie claimed in his post, that has since been removed, “This officer thought he had some drugs or something cause since when 2 patrol car stops one car on a turn signal issue… Guess I can’t be a pastor and can’t drive a Mercedes Benz and live in a nice neighborhood. Well you know as president of Timmonsville NAACP he stop the wrong car tonight cause someone needs to answer for this behavior…”

In the footage from police, there was no mention of drugs, or the neighborhood. The officer said he stopped the car over a failure to signal and found the registration was listed as another vehicle.

Moultrie has not commented. State NAACP leaders expressed dismay at his actions.

Any false sexual charge should carry aggravating circumstance penalties due to the extent of the effects on the life of the male victim. It should be raised to the level of hate crime since that is essentially what is being done.

Curious how long it takes them to release body cam footage exonerating a cop compared to releasing footage which shows the guilt of a cop?

I find it awfully convenient that body cam footage is property of the agency and that footage that exonerates an officer is ALWAYS available, but mysteriously disappears or cams weren't working or off when the issue might be 'iffy'............just sayin
A sad commentary on we, as a people, and our viewpoint of our freedom can be summed up like this. We have liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans, yet those very people look at Constitutionalists as radical and extreme.................so those liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans must believe that the constitution is radical and extreme.

there should be a civilian review board for every county that retains those in order to maintain transparency in all matters.

Don't many jurisdictions have civilian review boards?

there are several, but they aren't given any real power other than to make recommendations based upon the evidence they are given. police unions across the country vehemently oppose civilian review boards believing that since they are not law enforcement, they are unable to view things through the perspective of 'reasonable' cops that have to make split second decisions.

also, butchering my board name makes it difficult to see that you, or anyone else, has quoted me or for me to respond.

I'd say they have a point.
