Default Just another example of why the $15/hour minimum wage is ridiculous

I was in Home Depot this morning looking for a piece of molding for a project I'm doing at the house. Since I wasn't sure what would work, I looked in the scrap section of the cut to length molding to see if there was a piece I could use. I found a 54" piece of what I thought would work. Since Home Depot charges by the foot, I was going to pay for a 4' 6" piece instead of a 16' full piece. If it works, the 54" piece is long enough to use the largest portion of it and if it doesn't work, I'm only out a few bucks.

When I get to the register, the girl at the checkout measured the piece at 54". When she scanned the UPC, she had to enter the length in feet and inches. She entered 4' 10". When I corrected her that it was 6" instead of 10", she said "no, it's 10". 4 x 12" = 44" + 10" = 54".

    What a dumbass.

Let me see here. (holding head in hands and trying to think about this)

    1. Home Depot charges by the foot.
    2. You buy a piece of moulding stock at 4'-6". (rather than a 16' length)
    3. When you get to the counter, the girl measures the piece at 54".
    4. You correct her and say 'no, it's 4'-6" '
    5. After standing there for another 5 minutes arguing about who is right ...
    6. You pay for a 5' piece of material.

YOU! You're the asshole I always get stuck behind at Home Depot!

That the girl didn't know 4 x 12 = 48 not 44 proves the Liberal educational system in this country is a shithole.

Fuss at her. She's the dumbass Liberals think should make $15/hour minimum but can't do multiplication that elementary school kids learn to do. She wasn't being asked to multiply 43.25 x 12.78.

No one was quibbling. Should I let the dumbass continue to believe 4 x 12 = 44?

Get me the fuck out the way next time or get in line before me.

You're as big of an idiot as the stupid little bitch at the register. You think 4' 10" = 5'.

Hey, I got an idea. Instead of you standing in line that has a Humanoid at the Register, go to the Mechanized check out. That way you could stand there and argue with the Computer.

I was at that checkout. Because it was a piece of cut to length molding, the attendant had to enter the length. Seems they don't trust people to be honest. I would have entered 4' 6" because I know that 4 x 12 = 48 +6 = 54, the length of the piece.

I have an idea. STFU or get your ass in line in front of me.

Too young, as she looked to be about 20 and too ugly, as she looked like a feminist.

I don't have a problem with either. If a female pushes the feminist agenda, I have a problem with her but not because she's female. Plenty of people like you with manginas push it, too. If a minority pushes the poor old me constantly blame it on discrimination agenda, I have a problem with him/her but not because they're a minority. Plenty of white bleeding heart Liberals push that same agenda.
