In a letter sent to the president Tuesday, several groups representing journalists—including the Society of Professional Journalists, American Society of News Editors, College Media Association, Online News Association, and Reporters Without Borders—criticized the lack of transparency in the public sector, despite promises by the president to improve it.

The White House attempted to block Fox News from a round of interviews with “pay czar” Kenneth Feinberg Thursday. The attempt to shut Fox News out was the latest move in the administration’s ongoing battle against the cable news channel.

Baltimore Sun TV critic (and regular Fox News detractor) David Zurawik said.

“What it’s really about to me is the Executive Branch of the government trying to tell the press how it should behave. I mean, this democracy — we know this — only works with a free and unfettered press to provide information,” he said.

We are talking about the HEAD of the EPA blocking certain media outlets.

I posted that the 1st amendment doesn't insure freedom of access. You indicated it should when it comes to government agencies. The POTUS is part of the government.

Either way, it was an invite only event and they did not have an invite. They denied her admission and she refused to leave the building, so she was removed from the building. One of Pruitt's aides later called to apologize, promised they are looking into the situation, and allowed them into the summit. This was no great conspiracy by the EPA against the press. It was security guards doing their thing.
