Though I have my personal preference, what's more important is that any ostensible improvement (change) be transitioned to without negative impact on the students, or the $tax $payers.
Current indications of such privatization seem not as encouraging as initial proponents claimed. But that may merely mean early implementation efforts fell short.

In this case, I am advocating for a federally regulated and funded, online voluntary choice for all students and parents. I believe it will lower taxpayer costs.
Should colleges be allowed to profit from their student players? ... if they were forced to eliminate their sports programs, private leagues would replace them ... very quickly ... and some players could get fairly paid for their hard work.
