Adnan Hilton Pehlivan, 46, was best known for his Turkish cuisine at his popular Pittsburgh restaurant, Istanbul Sofra in Regent Square.

Now, he is making news for another reason: Pittsburgh police say he broke into the home of a woman he met in a bar and sexually assaulting her earlier this week.

As TribLive.com reports, the victim and her friends were visiting Kopy's bar on Pittsburgh's South Side Monday night when a man identified as Pehlivan, of Swissvale, Pa., bought them drinks and made small talk.

However, the victim did not give Pehlivan her phone number or address, TribLive writes, citing the criminal complaint in the case. After the victim fell asleep at her South Side home later that night, she awoke to find the man from the bar sexually assaulting her, the complaint said.

The woman, who is not identified in the report, was able to fight him off, with Pehlivan allegedly punching her to get away.

Police, who found evidence of a break-in at the woman's home, have charged Pehlivan with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse of an unconscious person, burglary, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault and simple assault.

Pehlivan has become a mentor to his staff. “I only employ other immigrants,” he says about nearly all of his 17 staff members. Pehlivan wishes the immigration system was more welcoming to newcomers and provided them the opportunities to grow and contribute to their adopted home. This includes shorter waits for green cards.

Prosecutors have charged Arnoldo Pompa-Rascon, 41, with two counts of armed criminal action, one count of first-degree assault and one count of shooting at a car or building in connection with a shooting rampage across Kansas City last week that resulted in the death of a well-known tattoo shop owner.

Pompa-Rascon, according to court documents, told detectives “voices tell him who to shoot.” He is in the United States illegally from Mexico, the documents show.

Last Friday, the Kansas City Police Department was called to investigate three separate shootings in the Northland - Pompa-Rascon was later determined to be the suspect after his vehicle was found crashed into a creek near Grandview.

Pompa-Rascon has been charged in the two injury shootings in Clay County - the incidents near 102nd Street and North Oak Trafficway, and in front of a home near 11th Street and North Campbell Street.

Prosecutors have yet to file murder charges in the death of Russell James Fisk, owner of Black Card Tattoo Collective, who was found dead after an incident at Northwest Barry Road and North Platte Purchase Drive. That homicide occurred in Platte County.

The court documents released Wednesday morning reveal the scope of Pompa-Rascon’s crime spree.

The probable cause statement claims Pompa-Rascon stole two loaded handguns and live ammunition around 2 p.m. Friday from a house in the 1000 block of East 100th Terrace in Kansas City. A neighbor at that scene took photos of the car the suspect used, a silver Dodge Neon.

Then at 8:14 p.m. Friday a shooting was reported at Northwest Barry Road and North Platte Purchase Drive in Platte County. Upon arrival, police found Fisk deceased inside his 2015 BMW I8. According to witness statements, a silver Dodge Neon was involved in the shooting.

While investigating that incident, police were notified of another shooting at 9:07 p.m. near 102nd and North Oak Trafficway in Clay County. The victim, a motorcyclist, drove home after being shot in the hand. He said he was shot by a person driving a silver Dodge Neon.

Then, a third shooting was reported at 9:18 p.m. at the corner of 111th and North Campbell Street in Clay County. The victim said he was shot in the shot in the chest by a person driving a silver Dodge Neon.

The case was cracked when police responded to an injury crash around 8 a.m. Tuesday at 101st Street and 150 Highway in Kansas City. When police arrived, they located a silver Dodge Neon crashed in a creek bed. Inside the car, police found a Glock handgun with a serial number that matched the gun that was stolen from the house in the 1000 block of East 100th Terrace in Kansas City on Friday.

Police located Pompa-Rascon nearby at 150 Highway and Peterson Road after a homeowner found him inside of his truck parked next to his garage. The truck owner held Pompa-Rascon at gunpoint until police arrived.
