Default There Goes trump's Nobel Prize

Damned fool continues military exercises in South Korea. Now that's what I call a real genius.

North Korea on Tuesday said a planned summit next month between President Trump and Kim Jong Un is at risk because of joint military exercises between the U.S. and South Korea.
North Korea said it was ending talks with South Korea, and a confusing statement from the country's state news agency strongly suggested that the drills threatened the fate of the historic summit.

the military exercises are planned well in advance, and that Kim said previously that he understands the need and the utility of continuing the joint exercises.

“We have not heard anything from [the North Korean government] or the government of South Korea to indicate that we would not continue conducting these exercises or that we would not continue planning for our meeting between President Trump and Kim Jong Un next month,” she said.

“What we have to go on is what Kim Jong Un had said before, that he understands and appreciates the importance to the United States of having these joint exercises.”

“We will continue to go ahead and plan the meeting between President Trump and Kim Jong Un
    .”
or we go back to "maximum pressure".. that's the beauty of this set up.

We have options -military being horrendous -but a viable option- to combat NK's existential threat.
Trump can literally walk away, and we are back to isolating and biting sanctions.

lil Kim needs normalization much more then we do -he made the openings-
and his country is in dire straights

Kim has already won this battle.

He wanted the world to know he is a major player...someone the American president would deal with in person.

The world knows that now...and it doesn't even have to happen. In fact, telling the American president to fuck off...makes for a better show. And if the American president backs off...and calls off the exercise...it works out even better.

Donald Trump's new book should be titled, "How to fuck up any deal."

Donald Trump is probably the worst negotiator in major league play right now. Kim has played him like a Stradivarius.

Kim is already a player because he's soon to have nuke miniaturization and a survivable ICBM.
That makes him a military player.

But he's also got to keep his regime reasonably happy -fat cat generals and a population
that doesn't all starve to death.

Also he's got to keep China placated. China is happy to use NK as a PIA against the west,
but it also knows a war would drive millions of NK refugees across it's border into China.

so everybody has a stake in the game here -
Kim's "recognition"doesn't do him any good without satisfying these conditions..

be happy Frank..you can keep up your abominations as the Summit will still happen

    "The summit" may happen.

Kim turns out to be the winner almost anyway this thing resolves.

Donald Trump is a master at failure. Gimme a break with "The art of the deal."

"The art of the chump" would be more like it.

What happens if Kim Jong-un decides to just return to the prior summit status quo? As you noted, he has his bombs so as long as he doesn't conduct testing or launching missiles what happens next?

And I don't think he is too worries about "fat cat generals" or the population, hasn't been up to this point, and being able to sit down with a US President only strengthens his position inside North Korea

HUH? You actually thought dump deserved a Nobel Peace Prize?

For what? Because President Obama got one?

dump doesn't deserve to be where he is now let alone win a prize.

no. he's already in tight - it's the hermit kingdom, and he's the hereditary hermit.

at some point these authoritarian societies want in on materialism.
China was in rapt accord with Mao's Little Red Book, and went thru the purges.
But as soon as it was opened up to ping pong diplomacy - that was it and it went from ideological to materialistic..

The difference is the "maximum pressure".
lil Kim knows Trump is crazy enough to go to war to keep NK from getting ICBM's - that and China telling him he needs to cool the war possibilites..

If he goes back to where we were..we go back to max pressure with military force on the table

Lol, peace through strength. You all thought Trump was going to start World War 3 with his little rocket man and big button rhetoric. What makes you think you're going to be right all of a sudden? You people never learn, LMAO.

Obama's no balls Peace Prize proved beyond the shadow of a doubt that they hand those things out for practically nothing, the only requirement is to be a Marxist loon. If Trump achieved World Peace, he still wouldn't be awarded this worthless left wing trophy.
