"Two black men arrested for sitting at a Philadelphia Starbucks without ordering anything settled with the city Wednesday for a symbolic $1 each and a promise from officials to set up a $200,000 program for young entrepreneurs.
The men and their lawyer told The Associated Press the settlement was an effort to make sure something positive came out of the incident.
"We thought long and hard about it and we feel like this is the best way to see that change that we want to see," said Donte Robinson, one of those arrested. "It's not a right-now thing that's good for right now, but I feel like we will see the true change over time."

a) I wasn't there. But the news is widely reported, corroborated by multiple outlets, including NBC, and PBS.
b) The $1.oo each isn't from Starbucks. It's from the same level of government that arrested them.
c) Such cases can drag out for years. The unusual rapidity with which these were settled indicates greed was not a motive here.

Do you suppose therefore that some similar % of Starbucks $revenues is from Blacks, or minorities that identify with Blacks?
If you were chairman of the Starbucks board, would you want to slash your revenues by ~13% by acting callous about this incident?
To my knowledge Starbucks is not a 501c3. They sell coffee to make a profit.
So somehow, Starbucks' settlement with Nelson & Robinson should be traceable to $profit motive.

I walked right in and use the Restroom and waited 25 minutes for my business partner to come in to buy a Cup of Coffee for himself.
