"Motherhood irrevocably changes a woman. More than just as a biological change, as many of the best mothers are those who never carried a child to term but carried on in her hear. A woman who's naturally shy and uncomfortable when speaking in public will rise and become a fearless, outspoken advocate for her child and for others when she becomes a mother. A maternal force for nature. She maneuver have known or care much about sports, but in the stands, she'll be the biggest and maybe the loudest fan because she's the proud mother of an athlete. She'll hear every note played by her child, even if in concert with one hundred others...just because she can. She'll cheer ever effort made by her child who struggles with differences that make life's road a longer and more difficult one and she'll walk every step of that road beside her child. Motherhood is a lifelong, long distance, endurance race. Every milestone is cause for celebration. She'll second guess every punishment she metes. She knows that setting strong boundaries and being consistent in following through...even when she doesn't want to, provides her children with a sense of security in an insecure world and the knowledge that they're loved even when under house confinement. To be a good mother you sometimes have to be willing to be the bad guy when other parents have decided to become their children's best friends. Motherhood is not a popularity contest. She'll live with regrets that she didn't say more, do more, say less and do less...and have much more energy, far greater insight, x-ray visions, esp and that she didn't take advantage of more opportunities to stop the three ring family circus and just hug and hold the ones she loves more than life itself. Lose the car keys, turn the TV off and just call a halt. Because the time passes so quickly...too quickly....and then our babies have babies of their own...
Happy Mother's Day to all of my extraordinary mom friends (and to the amazing and very much loved brides, mothers, daughters, granddaughters, and Gfs of my guy friends)....We are what we are..."

"With so much in the news about DACA, it's easy to overlook the fact that our country's crowded inner cities, our hills and hollows, our small towns and isolated backwaters are filled with American Dreamers, like Richard, hoping to make their dreams come true through hard work and a helping hand from mentors.
They rarely make the news, but when they do and we celebrate their success we encourage others to continue to persevere. I believe in mentoring and I believe that everyone has knowledge and a skill to share. We can be the helping hands that make dreams come true..."

Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.

Poor stupid Toxic and her gelding, RunningButthole. That quote is from Proverbs, not Rodney Dangerfield. Contards are so funny when they attempt to be witty. Humor just doesn't come naturally to the poorly-educated. Toxic, I hope you enjoy yet another wasted day endlessly discussing me. *smooch*
