Default The NRA said guns will be banned during a Pence speech

Just what are there afraid of? one of their own gun goons?

The National Rifle Association has championed the idea of “a good guy with a gun,” but no firearms will be allowed when Vice President Pence speaks at its annual meeting — sparking criticism from Parkland, Fla., students, who say schools should be afforded the same protection.

And in a rare occurrence, even some NRA supporters have voiced opposition to the prohibition.

Pence is scheduled to speak at the annual NRA gathering in Dallas on Friday, and many attendees will be packing guns, knives and other weapons for the event — which includes “more than 20 acres” of firearms exhibits expected to draw 80,000 members.

It's the secret service that's banning them for the VP's speech, not the NRA.
    Read your link, idiot.
Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.

LOL No it’s not. The secret service has no such authority. They can only make the condition that the VEEP cannot appear if the don’t prohibit guns at the venue. The NRA has the right to decline in which case Mr. Pence would not appear.

The hypocrisy here is staggering. The NRA will gladly ban guns to protect a worthless hack politician who helps them sell guns but god forbid we should keep guns out of schools to protect our far more precious children.

Is it just me or do we have our priorities mixed up? LOL

schools are already gun free zones, should they put up more signs to tell the ones with evil intent that they are REALLY banned?
A sad commentary on we, as a people, and our viewpoint of our freedom can be summed up like this. We have liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans, yet those very people look at Constitutionalists as radical and extreme.................so those liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans must believe that the constitution is radical and extreme.

That’s not my point. The hypocrisy of the NRA is. Guns aside if I have choose between protecting Mike Pence or school children I know who I would prioritize.

BTW, my local high school has a competition rifle team. I know their coach. She attended OSU on a athletic scholarship for team marksmanship or whatever it’s called. She talked to me on several occasions about her HIIT fitness training. This lady was so attuned to her own body she could hear her own heart beat even at rest.

Hypocrisy? Where the sam hell is there hypocrisy in this story?
If I recall, for the previous 8 years, a VP by the name of Joe Biden had secret service escorts for all of his speeches, no? I would also assume they had weapon prohibitions (banning) at his events too, wouldn't you?
So why the hell are you whining about it now? And your "children" diatribe is irrelevant.
Some of you ignorant liberals think we responsible gun owners expect to carry our firearms anywhere 24/7. We don't. Contrary to your warped minds, we have no problem when required not to. I attend a number of concerts every year, no gun, no problem. Bank. No problem. The local fire company? No problem etc.
Many of you twits also think we responsible gun owners can't wait for the chance to pull them and "shoot the bad guy." Not true. Most of us hope we never need to, and the very few who might aren't shooting anyone anyway, are they?
I'd say it's you who has your squabble "mixed up."

Poor lefties think they have stumbled on a political “gotcha”

    Let em jerk themselves off

None of the will answer this question

Will the democrat party run on a national campaign on banning certain guns and restricting gun rights?

I suspect in San Francisco they will

So to appear, the secret service dictates. And yet you say it is not the SS decision.

You're such a silly sheep mopple.
