I think that's largely true that they are low status males who resent not being selected and are making excuses for not making the effort at self improvement required to be selected.

I tend to agree but there are some legitimate concerns. For example in our society males commit suicide at a rate of nearly 4:1 over women and many of those suicides occur after divorce. This is significantly higher in the Western world where career focused men tend not to maintain social support systems.

It's not just marriage that they're concerned with.

If you really want to go your own way, you shouldn't need to identify with or as part of a group of guys doing the same thing. Kind of goes against the whole idea. Like if I was a biker, I wouldn't want to be in some silly club.

ive found a support group is useful for most things.
