the problem with this is it's mostly lies. the left spends alot of thought on guns, just wanting only the government to have them. Given an inexpensive choice, you'd happily remove them from all civilian hands and be happy that only government has them. See, the left AND the right love their government power so that they can have it used against their perceived political enemies. This is why you have to maintain the whole gun nut theory and anti government paranoia crap.
One has to wonder though, what was it that caused you on the left to have so much more faith in government over the people, that you'd give away your rights and freedoms to government with the faith that government would still be a benevolent servant instead of a cruel master?

Not sure what "lefties" you argue with but I have met very few who want all guns removed. Barely a blip on the radar. The rest just want to be safe with the amount of guns we already have.

95% of the lefties i've dealt with are comfortable with the guns THEY have, but want mine gone. sure, the occasional ones don't mind if I have a single shot .22 or shot gun, maybe a .38 revolver, but that's the extent of their desire for anyone but a leftie to have guns. they don't trust the right and they damn sure don't trust veteran Libertarians. we're just too 'dangerous' for them. it's all about kowtowing to government power, which is what all lefties want.

Ever hear of courts? How about the power of the public opinion that can be wielded by the government. Trump uses that regularly. Now we have tweets.
Yes we wish Americans were not gun crazy. We wish guns were not everywhere.But try and understand. We have reluctantly accepted that guns will be part of the American culture.
