These false teachers and fakes have been around forever. Jeremiah complained about such people (Jer. 50:30-31). Paul had the same problems from those who refused to admit the Old Law had been nailed to the cross of the Messiah (Acts 15:1-2)

Jesus warned of false prophets to come (Matthew 24:10-11) And indeed the Apostles knew that even among those professing to be brothers of the faith....FALSE PROPHETS and con artists would exist. (2 Peter 2:1-3).

Therefore it is the duty of each member of the Lord's kingdom (the church) to prepare themselves and measure what is being taught against the actual revelations found in scripture. Study.....(2 Tim. 2:15)...rightly dividing the word of truth.
