At what point are they destroying the country. Not just Trump like they think.

If they "stalled" nearly every Trump nominee how did he assemble a cabinet, including Pompeo, the fact of the matter is that the Trump Administration has failed to nominate individuals to fill vacant posts, the State Dept itself is a good example, we still lack an Ambasador to South Korea amongst dozens of other nations
The Senate is supposed to weigh nominees, did you ever think that maybe the problem has been the President's failure to nominate qualified individuals, just looking at his cabinet heads now and including several who have exited leaves one scratching thier head
Seems as if the author is just attacking anyone, Democrat and Republican, who opposes Pompeo appointment and generalizing it as hatred of Trump

I appreciate the topic a #1.
I just heard an interview with professor / author Timothy Snider about his book on Russia.
Among Snider's observations:
Putin doesn't like Hillary, Putin resists women in charge, thus also resists Merkel.
Russians in power tend to not like law & rules, Crimea being an example.
Trump (the man some think Russia helped put into the U.S. presidency) doesn't care for rules either.
Thus they're both more comfortable with under the table style negotiations, rather than more formal, diplomatic process.
Little wonder then that neither Trump, nor his Russian handlers would be all that eager for a U.S. secretary of State.
Timothy Snider gave an impressive interview, summoning to mind some of the warning we got from presidential candidate Romney. Perhaps Romney was right about Russia.
"It should be obvious to anyone why conservatives and libertarians should be against Trump. He has no grounding in belief. No core philosophy. No morals. No loyalty. No curiosity. No empathy and no understanding. He demands personal loyalty and not loyalty to the nation. His only core belief is in his own superiority to everyone else. His only want is exercise more and more personal power." smb / purveyor of fact 18/03/18

Men of conscience, members of congress that vote conscience over party often annoy those that vote party, whether they have a conscience or not.

Could seem such given the way Tillerson had to bite his lip with Trump's antics, but that is insanity, someone has to lead the State Departmemt, make the day to day decisions, there are events occurring around the world that don't make the news cycle and require eyes on the ground, which is the role of the State Departmemt
a) I know.
b) Trump neither knows nor cares. To Trump it's just "drain the swamp".

you wern't paying attention on how long cabinet appointees took to begin with. There have only been nine nominees in the history of the presidential cabinet who have been denied confirmation by the Senate, and only one of those rejections was in recent history.
senate does not "weigh" it's not in the business of approval like a jury ,it's advice and consent
Romney was right in the sesne we'vemade Putin the number 1 for by NATO expansion.
Crimea was a reaction to US meddling -we fomented revolution of the maidan which was for protest.
Sevastapol access was clearly at risk -an unacceptable situation
Head games are silly, but if you want to buy into them..
Which is the exact reason individuals as Bolton when Bush put him at the UN were appointed the way they are, to avoid the obvious. If you have the majority in the Senate it should never come done to a close vote if you nominate the right people
And the Senate's role goes beyond "advice and consent," it is approval of the nominee, did you think it was established that they need the majority approval because they were just "advising and consenting?"
