He’s not even bothering to wait till the end of his term, that’s how bad things are on the Hill.

Since he is not expected to win due to democratic gerrymandering of his district, why should he stay and take the beating?

It amusing that you call it gerrymandering, I think that is what it was before the courts intervened.

He’s not even waiting till the end of his term, he is leaving early.

It's going to take a long time for the Trump Stench to go away.

Real disadvantage here is that now the State will have to pay for a special election that will just have to be done again in Novemeber, think the guy would have the decency to just stay put till next January

Do you have proof they are kowtowing to the DNC or are they just being fair?

    Three more Republicans are quitting.

I'd like to see all those republicans retiring form their own party. The time is ripe.

Is there a possibility to keep the seat open to avoid the financial burden? Is 8 months too long without representation, even though they aren’t doing much?

What a cowardly quitter. He is a self prick who wants to be a TV analyst and make more money while costing the tax payers more money.

Dent had tried to be that voice from the middle. He was chairman of the moderate Tuesday Group and frequently quoted in the media, and he could be looking to make that a more permanent, paid job. Dent told the New York Times last year he'd "had conversations with TV news executives about becoming an analyst," though there were "no definitive plans" yet. Former Utah Rep. Jason Chaffetz followed that path when he resigned last year to join Fox News.
he must have gotten a job offer..another "revolving door"
