Certainly, the whole issue seems suspicious as Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner’s roles in The White House have screamed nepotism. However, Snopes reported that the claim was mostly false. They explained that Ivanka Trump’s brand along with other clothing companies will not have pay extra for clothing items imported from China. Many of the stories omitted that fact.

Chinese President Xi Jinping promised to open the country’s economy further and lower import tariffs on products like cars, in an attempt to defuse an escalating trade dispute with the United States.

If you have data to refute him, feel free to provide it. I don't make clothes and it would have been the same if my call. Poor people need affordable clothes and while it sucks for American manufacturers who can't compete, a $6-$8 polo from Walmart is better than a $25 polo from Walmart, especially for people with children.
