Im sorry LR but I’m not impressed at all. I certainly appreciate his passion for protecting his rights but his arguments are illogical and not supported by the facts. It pretty much seems to me to be NRA talking points that are irrational.

His arguments are illogical because he’s using a discredited strawman argument that misrepresents those who are concerned about these mass shootings and where they stand on the issue. Apparently wanting to do anything about gun violence or even having an adult conversation about it is a violation of second amendment rights. That’s absurd.

The other illogical aspect of his argument is he is trotting out the NRA tried and true slippery slope logical fallacy that even a discussion on even minor regulations is going to result in government storm troopers kicking your door down and take your guns. That’s not supported by the facts.

We have more liberal gun laws then at anytime in our history. A higher percentage of Americans own more guns than ever before. More types and variety of firearms exist for purchase and sales of guns have been at historical highs for years.

Though I respect the mans passion for protecting his rights his emotional and illogical arguments, though appealing do not hold water and are counterproductive. No one is being punished except the victims. The facts simply don’t support his arguments.

What I want to see is for people to engage in reasoned and logical discourse using fact and willing to listen and evaluate solutions based on merit and not illogical appeals to emotion like this.

Sorry LR I find his video counterproductive. Appeals to emotion like this don’t carry a lot of weight with me.

I agree. I’ll give the guy credit on one thing, though. At least he didn’t invoke the “what part of ‘shall not be infringed’ do you not understand” bullshit.

The reality of life is that we all face restrictions and regulations due to abuses of a few. That’s the reason for any regulation.

I am still waiting for the honest argument for the AR-15 (which can easily be made), rather than the outright lies perpetrated in this video, and through out the broader wingnutosphere - aka, "God given rights!", "Federal agents coming for all our guns!", and "only criminals will have guns!".

If we can just honestly admit that the reason for owning an AR15 has nothing to do with hunting, with home defense, or with "God given rights", and just honestly say why people actually want them (e.g., penis extenders, target shooting, feeling like Rambo, a fetish for military style weaponry) we would have the basis for a conversation. Because I totally get the cool, bad ass factor that comes with wanting to own in these types of weapons. I get it, and I do not think it is a bad thing in principle. As long as there are very strict controls and robust, universal background checks on who can buy these things.
