As it should be, why should they be exempt?

Two Muslim women who allege they were forced to remove their hijabs when they were arrested have filed a civil rights lawsuit against New York City, arguing their religious liberties were violated.

Jamilla Clark and Arwa Aziz claim police officers forced them to remove their head scarfs for mugshots even though they repeatedly stated doing so was against their faith, according to a federal class-action lawsuit filed on Friday.

The women are seeking unspecified damages as well as a change of a city policy that requires head coverings be removed for official photos taken by the police department - even if they don't cover someone's face, like a hijab, which usually covers the head and chest.

Happened in Dearborn and they have to show their faces to get ID or a license. The option given was don't drive. Hijab shows the face, but not the hair. That is allowed.

some have veils, and some hide hair color..o identifying marks and moles . It's a mug shot...take it off

Hijab serves as a mug shot. They are designed to hide their hair. But their faces are visible. So you can id them.

Well, I have a very simple solution. Don't commit acts that necessitate getting a mug shot. Then you can keep your hijab on.

Isn't is strange how what you say can avoid lots of things. Why is it that those committing crimes seem to think they have the ability to question such things? It's a cause/effect situation. If the cause for the mug shot doesn't take place, the effect is non-existent.
