This book came up in my twitter feed today. It's about Progressive politics in SF from 1975-1991. The main review of the book on Amazon included this:
""Focusing on San Francisco's turbulent political history, non-conformist traditions, and ethnic and cultural diversity, political scientist Richard DeLeon analyzes the successes and failures of the progressive movement as it topples the business-dominated progrowth regime, imposes stringent controls on growth and development, and achieves political control of city hall.""

I know many Democrats that like money. But what is it about progressives that see growth and development as bad? Or is this a more isolated San Francisco thing among progressives?

Growth is bad as it undermines the need of gpvernment.

The USA has lost WWIV to China with no other weapons but China Virus and some cash to buy democrats.
Detroit is a great example of progressive values in operation. What was once one of the largest growing and vibrant cities and economies, is now full of vacant decrepit buildings, weeds, drugs corruption and crime.
Venezuela is a foreign version. Everything the Progressive Liberals want to implement here, were done there.
What we can predict and do know is that Progressive Liberals do not learn from history or the past. They'll tell you that we just didn't SPEND enough!
