The FBI office that handles employee discipline has recommended firing the bureau's former deputy director over allegations that he authorized the disclosure of sensitive information to a reporter and misled investigators when asked about it — though Justice Department officials are still reviewing the matter and have not come to a final decision, a person familiar with the case said.

The recommendation from the FBI's Office of Professional Responsibility is likely to add fuel to the political fire surrounding former deputy director Andrew McCabe, who abruptly stepped down from his post earlier this year but technically remained an FBI employee.

I get the torture -that whole "imminent threat" holdover from 9-11, that really never was useful.

But that's been addressed by the Senate Intel Committee report, and will not happen again just because Haspel is Chief Spook.

But Flynn's rapproachment with Russia, and Tiillerson's ability to negotiate with Russia is a dead issue because of Russiaphobia and sanctions. The generals are in charge. damn the realpolitik

I at least hope Pompeo is not supportive of staying in Syria or other mis-adventures, but I am concerned all these hawks will trip up Trump.

The discipline office has not made a decision yet, but you did, didn't you. Mccabe's wife ran for office as a Dem. Trump wants to punish that by firing him just before he leaves. He has already quit ,.. A week to go. But Trump wants to fuck up his pension. Trump is a dick.
