Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.
- -- Aristotle
Believe nothing on the faith of traditions, even though they have been held in honor for many generations and in diverse places. Do not believe a thing because many people speak of it. Do not believe on the faith of the sages of the past. Do not believe what you yourself have imagined, persuading yourself that a God inspires you. Believe nothing on the sole authority of your masters and priests. After examination, believe what you yourself have tested and found to be reasonable, and conform your conduct thereto.

It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.

Irrelevant, misleading, and uninformed.
1) The GOP heavily gerrymandered legislative districts throughout the nation, particularly after the 2010 census.
2) Number of state legislative seats has nothing to do with the will of the people. One state legislative seat in Oklahoma might represent twenty thousand people. One state legislative seat in California might represent 400 thousand people --- aka, one legislative seat is not equal to another. And only a mindless dunce would tally up state legislative seats across the country, treat them equally, and make bogus claims that is represents the popular will of the nation.

Fair enough, does that mean that Obama lost same said ass when he lost 1000 legislative seats during his regime?
Just trying to clarify.
Our good friend Cypress says that no Obama did not lose said ass. Everyone loved Obama. So losing 1000 legislative seats by the democrat party had ZERO do to with Obama.
And to take it a step further. Didn't Obama fully endorse Hillary Clinton? By virtue of her losing did he lost his ass on that as well?
The loss of the legislative seats, in my opinion, definitely was a reflection on President Obama. I'm sure you saw it as such...and I, for one, a supporter of the man, felt terrible to see the nation shifting so far to the right and tended to think it a product of the people's negativity toward him at that time. (His positive ratings were never as low as Trump's...and his favoribility rating now is almost 70%.)
The recent GOP losses ARE a reflection of the nation's very negative opinion of Donald Trump.
I just have to say: Anyone who has negative thoughts about Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton because "they are liars", "they are incompetent", or "the are criminals"...who can throw his/her support behind Donald Trump...is a HYPOCRITE of COSMIC proportions.
How anyone in that position can look him or herself in the mirror is incomprehensible.
Just sayin'!

as I have said previously, given the back and forth of control of Congress since 2000, I don't think any side can make any claims about which way the country is moving. Elections are now turnout events. And typically the out of majority side is more energized because they are feeling disenfranchised.
as for Trump, I overlook everything he does because he is implementing the conservative policies that many so called conservatives have run on and failed to do for years. I am a pragmatist.
As to what you think about me as a Trump supporter? Fortunately having your approval is not high up on my priority list. You might want to check in with Cawacko and Threedee though. They like to virtue signal for lefties and gain their approval and validation
you need to learn up on stuff before you post foolishness. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...=.99558baee963
