I have never, as far as I know 'Championed' Russia, but it comes in for quite a lot of lies. As for Iran it seems a bit more democratic than the United States, and stands up to the loathsome Saudis, but I've known too many Iranians-in-exile ever since your smelly Shah was bullying there to be wildly enthusiastic.
