My impression is Trump’s apparent willingness to sic our military on Kim softened him up a bit: Trump basically called Rocket Man’s bluff. He’s not insane, after all. That was just for show. Plus it was our pressure on China that got them to get serious with the NK regime.

Lil Kim was expecting more of kicking the nuclear can down the road like Obma/Bush/Clinton-

I heard on NPR this morning that the tariff announcement was what business people call posturing. It's what Trump basically said that's how one negotiates when he was campaigning.
