Socialism is just the modern word for monarchy.
D.C. has become a Guild System with an hierarchy and line of accession much like the Royal Court or priestly classes.
Private citizens are perfectly able of doing a better job without "apprenticing".

I don't remember much of the movie. Just a few fragmentary recollections.
The nurse antagonist's character name was "Nurse Ratchet" (Louise Fletcher?). A ratchet is a device that allows rotation in only one direction.
iirc the movie was quite a forum to boost Jack Nicholson's career.
iirc the diminutive "Martini" was played by Danny Devito.
Was Christopher Lloyd also in Cockoo? They also played in the hit TV series Taxi.
One of the more popular lines: "Mmmmm Juicy Fruit"
"It should be obvious to anyone why conservatives and libertarians should be against Trump. He has no grounding in belief. No core philosophy. No morals. No loyalty. No curiosity. No empathy and no understanding. He demands personal loyalty and not loyalty to the nation. His only core belief is in his own superiority to everyone else. His only want is exercise more and more personal power." smb / purveyor of fact 18/03/18

I felt for Nurse Ratchet, having to deal with a pain-in-the-ass, like Nicholson.
"It [the draft] is duty rather than slavery. I part with the author on the caviler idea that individual freedom (whatever that may be to the person) leads to nirvana, anyone older that 12 knows that is BS."

"The Community Mental Health Act of 1963 (CMHA) (also known as the Community Mental Health Centers Construction Act, Mental Retardation Facilities and Construction Act, Public Law 88-164, or the Mental Retardation and Community Mental Health Centers Construction Act of 1963) was an act to provide federal funding for community mental health centers and research facilities in the United States. This legislation was passed as part of John F. Kennedy's New Frontier.[1] It led to considerable deinstitutionalization.
In 1955, Congress passed the Mental Health Study Act, leading to the establishment of the Joint Commission on Mental Illness and Mental Health.[2] That Commission issued a report in 1961,[3] which would become the basis of the 1963 Act.[2]
The CMHA provided grants to states for the establishment of local mental health centers, under the overview of the National Institute of Mental Health. ... "
