Torshin’s ties with the NRA have flourished in recent years. In late 2015, he hosted two dinners for a high-level NRA delegation during its week-long visit to Moscow that included meetings with influential Russian government and business figures.

Russian citizens over 18 years of age can obtain a firearms licence after attending gun-safety classes and passing a federal test and background check. The licence is for five years and may be renewed. Firearms may be acquired for self-defense, hunting, or sports activities. Carrying permits may be issued for hunting firearms licensed for hunting purposes. Initially, purchase is limited to smooth-bore long-barred firearms and pneumatic weapons with a muzzle energy of up to 25 joules (18 ft⋅lbf). After five years of shotgun ownership, rifles may be purchased.

How much does the license cost? Their ability to bear arms is not a right it is a privilege granted to them by their despotic authoritarian state.

I guarantee you that your thread will soon be "forgotten", and Trumptards will fall back on the claim that liberals have a devious scheme to "ban all guns", just like in those socialist European countries. I have pointed out repeatedly that private gun ownership occurs in almost all countries of the world, with varying degrees of restriction and regulation. So the premise that "all guns will be banned" by liberals in the United States is utterly preposterous at face value. A premise that could not be held by any honest, and reasonable person.

It is a talking point I see the rightwing cling to like grim death, and it is obviously sheer propaganda they have memorized like mindless parrots. They must either be clinging to the "ban all guns" talking point out of sheer ignorance....or willful dishonesty. And those are not mutually exclusive, because I know there are a lot of rightwing posters who are both ignorant and dishonest!

It will be forgotten because it's laughable bullshit, anti-gun legislation in the RF is draconian.

Well, one of us has a problem with facts...and it appears to be you.

The FACT is Russians CAN OWN GUNS.

The FICTION is Teflon's outright lie that they can't.

I don't expect you to admit the truth, but pointing out your ignorance from time to time never gets old.
What kind of country have we become?

One in which federal prosecutors can take “evidence” before a “grand jury,”

and that grand jury can “vote to indict” a former president for 91 alleged “crimes”?

So you acknowledge that Russians CAN bear arms.

Have you pointed out to Teflon Don just how WRONG he was?

LET THE GOAL POST MOVING BEGIN!

As I recall, the wingnut talking point was that liberals want to "ban all guns" here, and they point to "Socialist Europe" as an example. This talking point has been relentless.

If "all" private ownership of guns is not banned in Putin's Russian dictatorship, how likely do you think it is there is some secret, liberal scheme to "ban all guns" in the United States?

Yep, that's right. The likelihood is exactly...zero percent.

While self-defense and protection of property is a constitutional right guaranteed to Russian citizens, Russian legislation on gun control is relatively strict, limiting the circulation of firearms to Russian citizens older than eighteen years of age with a registered permanent residence, and for the purposes of self-defense, hunting, and sports activities only.

Does not sound "Draconian" at all to me. Restrictive, yes. "Draconian", no.
