Default Something changing on gun control?

I turn on Fox News just now, something has seriously changed in the gun control debate, I’m watching the five and they’re all talking about gun control in a very positive way! How’s the title changed? Are things finally going to get better on gun control? It’s always amazing to be when things I’ve been arguing for for many years change suddenly.

Why did Sandyhook not change anything, but this newest episode seems like it’s going to result in some serious change?

Those of you who have previously been against gun control, are you reevaluating? What do you think about trumps evolving position?

On Fox news Facebook comments I'm seeing a lot of people say they won't vote for him in 2020 if he touches gun laws in any way. Which, I find odd, because there was no outrage from the right when Trump said he could shoot somebody on 5th avenue and not lose any voters.

So shooting someone = ok, but even sneezing in the direction of gun laws = not ok.

I personally am not reevaluating anything. It would be nice to actually have President that might actually do something though.

There is a desperation to do something about these kinds of tragedies, and both sides should seize this opportunity.

There is a lot of common ground. We can address gun control & mental health - and on the other side, the left shouldn't be so quick to dismiss the idea of designating some teachers or school personnel to arm.

I also think there are some concessions out there. A more extensive background check, bump stocks, silencers, age requirement increase... But the first move by so many would be to go back to a complete AWB.

Bump stocks and silencers don’t kill people, why would you want to take it out on them?

No, you shouldn't seize the opportunity to do anything. That's what leads to things like the Patriot Act or Japanese Internment or a travel ban. Or do you support all those things too?

trump is out in 2020. the next republican candidate will come out in favor of repealing any bans and win the nomination.,
A sad commentary on we, as a people, and our viewpoint of our freedom can be summed up like this. We have liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans, yet those very people look at Constitutionalists as radical and extreme.................so those liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans must believe that the constitution is radical and extreme.

Well Jughead....you'll just have to contact your local political leaders and let them know you're against laws preventing anyone from getting silencers and bump stocks....so stock
up now if you want them.....otherwise, get used to the idea that there is a new sheriff in town, named Donald Trump....

and if you'll remember, Sandy Hook took place after Obama was elected and Bush had only a few days left in office...not enough time to do anything and then
your new president, Obama, did nothing.....about guns or the mentally ill ass that committed the shootings.....

and keep in mind that even Trump can't really do anything himself....LAWS have to be passed and the FBI must be held responsible for the 17 lives they are responsible
for by not doing their freakin' jobs....

anything else we can help you with ?
    Put blame where it belongs
ATF decided it could not regulate bump stocks during the Obama administration.
It that time," the NRA wrote in a statement. "The NRA believes that devices designed to allow semiautomatic rifles to function like fully-automatic rifles should be subject to additional regulations."
The ATF and Obama admin. ignored the NRA recommendations.

Right as rain Thingy.....seems the left continue to want others to do the dirty work of protecting schools and class rooms....just like they want
others to fight the wars that keep them free.......

So, I point out the hypocrisy of some peoples argument, and you run for the hills claiming that it was unreasonable?

What would you have the FBI do? Republicans won’t pass any laws that support their efforts in this area. If we had some legislation that would’ve prevented this boy from having a gun after the way he behaved, maybe the FBI could’ve done something.
