It seems like rightwingers used to howl in protest whenever anyone dared suggest their party was engaged in a national effort to game the system, disenfranchise votes, and thwart the will of the people.

No one is even denying it anymore.

I think this decade-long effort by Republicans to thwart democracy and defy the popular will ....might be a profitable area of future research for intrepid historians and political scientists!

Another case of judges writing laws. Trump needs to call BS on this.. The Supreme Court has no constitutional authority to do this.

I hope that this and the more recent Pennsylvania case will embolden the (D)s to stop wimping out and challenge the gerrymandering across the board.

Yet NC has 2 congressional districts with a purposely gerrymandered majority minority.

When are those going to end?

Does that include the majority minority gerrymandered districts or are they an exception?

Geerymandering is a technique used to take the power of a group of people's vote away. It is wrong. No way to defend it. That is why the courts are rejecting it. It is just the rightys who feel cheated out of the power they bilked people out of. They went through a lot of trouble to set up districts that keep them in power. Now they are getting cheated out of their due. Makes them angry. Somehow they claim patriotism while they are stealing .
