Exactly this. Rewriting history has become a real specialty for many conservatives.
The collective amnesia about the Iraq War in particular is always striking to me. I will never forget how war opponents were portrayed and spoken to during the lead-up to invasion and in the year or so afterward. Traitors, terrorist-sympathizers, "wrong side of history," etc.
Now, it's all "well, he couldn't have done it if Dems didn't vote for it," and righties trying to claim they never really supported it.
