Let me guess. You believe yourself to be well informed and one who thinks for themselves. But those who believe or vote differently than you don't or can't

It not only discredits the United States, it discredits the very concept of western liberal democracy.

That is a win-win for the Kremlin.
you forgot the part about where he invited Russians to the oval office and gave them top secrets shortly after being elected

The thing about Trump, is that I think he is literally too stupid to have hatched some grand nefarious scheme to commit treason on behalf of the Russians.

I would believe in a nanosecond that he would accept help from a foreign power to win an election and smear a perceived opponent.
I think it is possible he is in the thrall of Russian banks, Russian oligarchs, or has some other weird connection to Russia. I don't know how else to understand his complete denial and lack of concern about Russian meddling in our internal affairs, the fact he shows no interest in defending the United States against Russian meddling, the fact he takes Putin's word over our own intelligence agencies, and the fact that he seems to be a major fan boy of Vladimir Putin.

I do not think Russia is the grand strategic threat to the United States that some have portrayed them. So I would not begrudge Trump, Obama, Clinton, or anyone else working to find common ground with Russia on our shared interests. It is just weird that Trump basically acts like he is the junior partner, the ultimate fan boy of Russian dictators and oligarchs.

    How did the trolling work?

You got a list of topics to write about. Every piece of news was taken care of by three trolls each, and the three of us would make up an act. We had to make it look like we were not trolls but real people. One of the three trolls would write something negative about the news, the other two would respond, “You are wrong,” and post links and such. And the negative one would eventually act convinced. Those are the kinds of plays we had to act out.

    Do you think it worked?

Who really reads the comments under news articles, anyway? Especially when they were so obviously fake. People working there had no literary interest or abilities. These were mechanical texts. It was a colossal labor of monkeys, it was pointless. For Russian audiences, at least. But for Americans, it appears it did work. They aren’t used to this kind of trickery. They live in a society in which it’s accepted to answer for your words. And here — I was amazed how everyone was absolutely sure of their impunity, even as they wrote incredibly offensive comments. They were sure that with the anonymity of the Internet, no one would find them."

    Arcan Cetin's Voting Record

Accused Cascade Mall shooter Arcan Cetin reportedly was registered to vote and participated in three elections, despite being a green card holder and not a naturalized citizen.

Federal sources confirm that Cetin was not a U.S. citizen, meaning legally he cannot vote. However, state records show Cetin registered to vote in 2014 and participated in three election cycles, including the May presidential primary.

Cetin, who immigrated to the United States from Turkey as a child, is considered a permanent resident or green card holder. While a permanent resident can apply for U.S. citizenship after a certain period of time, sources tell KING his status had not changed from green card holder to U.S. citizen.

I’m sorry that’s the way you see it (so it’s “stupid”) but that’s exactly how many of us feel. We have been told not to vote based on certain moral issues like abortion and homosexuality. As a country we have gone from wringing our hands over that line in Gone With the Wind to almost anything goes on TV and the movies nowadays. We have moved to where a candidate on the national level cannot be a fundamental Christian or hold traditional Christian values or he is scorned by late night comedians and taken to task by the media (Mike Huckabee, Dr. Carson, Ted Cruz, Mike Pence, etc.). Amoral - Unconcerned with the rightness and wrongness Of something. Sorry but that’s the way I see it.

Because absent some evidence to the contrary, it's the fucking null hypothesis.
