A society that cares about solutions, rather than just saying words into the air.

I know! It's the kind that deplores HYPOCRISY.

Holy Willie's Prayer is a poem by Robert Burns. It is considered the greatest of all Burns' satirical poems, one of the finest satires by any poet, and a withering attack on religious hypocrisy.

Excellent poen, TE. Never heard it before.

I've got dozens of shots of Robbie Burns' huge statue in Central Park. Here's one from the Internet.

give us a solution that improves security in a gun free zone. we'll wait.
A sad commentary on we, as a people, and our viewpoint of our freedom can be summed up like this. We have liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans, yet those very people look at Constitutionalists as radical and extreme.................so those liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans must believe that the constitution is radical and extreme.

He has to go to the baboons, I can't bring them to him. Or are you trying to turn this around to insult me? Not logically possible to do so, in what was said. I didn't even mention myself once.

Since you seem to be one of the more reasonable rightists, surely you understand prayer isn't being condemned, the lack of action is. God can't stop what we enable, prayer is only good for those that no one else can really help right now. It's the job of priests, and loved ones. Congress offering it in light of doing nothing, while it continues to happen at an alarming rate is abhorrent. The lack of action is being condemned, and no one wants prayers from those defiant in finding solutions, despite it being what they're elected, and paid to do.

I have mental issues, and have been around it most my life. The fact this kid was aloud this needs to be changed. I would tell them it's not in peoples best interest to let someone with my issues, or worse have such free access to arms. The fact that he was known about, and somehow logic dictated he could have a gun, but only if it's locked up, is blatant stupidity lacking all basis of thought, and sense. In these trying times of hatreds inflamed, if these things aren't changed it will get worse. More guns won't deter someone like that either.

You people on the left have always gotten bent out of shape over religion and its free expression. That's why the Jacobins, Marxists, and many schools of socialism have long attempted to ban and suppress it.

The same kind of society that accepts school shootings as a price we have to pay to protect our 2nd Amendment rights? Just a guess.

Surely you cannot be saying prayer is not being condemned, when the actual words being said do just that. If that's not the intent, why say the words? And not just say the words, but do so in the most insulting, demeaning, and purposefully disrespectful manner imaginable? Do you really think you will convince a single person with this approach? Of course not, you know damn well you won't, and that is not the intention. The intention is to mock. Period, end of story. If you are attempting to suggest otherwise, you're simply being disingenuous, at best. Surely you are not that naive.

And while it's true more guns might not deter the next mass murderer, it could most certainly stop them dead in their tracks. But I guess that's only good enough for elite children like Malia and Sasha. Screw the little people, let them be slaughtered.
