you should study more about the prohibition of alcohol and the troubles that the government faced because of it.

the amount of government indoctrination cannot be underestimated. look at the popular support of the patriot act and ndaa
A sad commentary on we, as a people, and our viewpoint of our freedom can be summed up like this. We have liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans, yet those very people look at Constitutionalists as radical and extreme.................so those liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans must believe that the constitution is radical and extreme.

It was an attempt to appease public outcry, after incidents in 1991 and 1993.

The people that die from guns is a miniscule amount, hardly enough to even justify reporting about.

We will keep our guns, and you can't do anything about it. Sorry, sucks to be you, but we will still have our guns.

Sadly, for the lives of many more innocent children, you are right that nothing will get done.

Not only criminals have fully automatic. There are approximately 50,000 of them owned privately and legally in this country. The reason they are used rather infrequently is cost. To buy them legally is big, big bucks and the paperwork is a very long process. If one is going to buy a weapon for committing a crime they generally are not going to buy them legally for one and if they buy them on the street they are going to get the (forgive my pun) most bang for the buck.

I'm talking about the ban on fully automatic weapons made after 1986 and the various other hoops needed to jump through to purchase one legally. You're taking about the assault weapons ban of the 90s.

I know that, only the most nerdiest of gun nerds own full autos. The scarcity and therefore increased cost keeps most people from getting their hands on them -criminals included-. Funny how that works, huh?
